Testing Ground is a re-positioning of the Exhibition Space, asking it to become an incubator, or laboratory, for new material encounters between a series of drawings and textiles made during lockdown in 2020.

Concerned with material semiotics and residue-based ecologies/economies in the post-Oil Age, Testing Ground hopes to invite material configurations that leak beyond the two dimensional, informing theoretical and practical oscillations for the artist to pursue next.

On the last day of the residency, an installation will be left in the Exhibition Space, inviting it to become a Holding Ground.
